Recently, I wrote a post about the issue of discipline in AI agentic engineering. The focus was on how to stay on top of the velocity at which things are now moving. The core issue is the rate at which code is being generated, human discipline is not enough. You need architectural tests and enforcement to stay on top of it.
Everybody is being affected by this. If you are not coding with agents, you are doing something wrong. If you are coding with agents, you are doing something wrong. It is a very difficult time as people and companies are working to figure out the best ways to navigate this issue.
Deepseek started the deepseek-harness repo 3 months ago. It is an agent harness, another tool that has been developed for people to use in the quest of exploring AI agents.
To be clear, this article is not about the tool, nor the quality of the tool. This is to demonstrate what AI Agentic Engineering looks like and how fast things really move.
